The shopping list we wanted for our own homes
Shop Assistant started from a simple, familiar frustration: a shared shopping list that actually stays in sync across everyone in the house, keeps working in the dead-signal aisles of a big supermarket, and doesn't treat the people using it as an advertising audience.
So that's what we set out to build. Shared lists for the household (the weekly shop, the pharmacy run, whatever you need), organised the way you really shop, by store and by aisle, synced the moment anyone changes it, and fully usable offline. Two of you can be in different shops and nothing gets bought twice.
It's an independent project, built and run with care rather than growth targets. There are no ads, no trackers following you between apps, and your shopping data is never sold or mined. The only thing we charge for is the optional Pro and Business plans. That's the whole business model.

Fred
Shop Assistant is made and run by Fred Taylor-Young, who uses it with his wife for their weekly shop, so the things that annoy them as shoppers are the things that get fixed first.
