Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of Shop Assistant (the "Service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
We ask you to actively accept these Terms when you first sign in, and to accept them again whenever we publish a material update. We record the date and version of your acceptance. You must accept the current Terms to continue using the Service; if you do not agree, do not use the Service. You may delete your account (see "Termination").
2. Eligibility / age minimum
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for activity under it. Sign-in is by magic link, passkey, or supported social provider. Keep your sign-in methods and any API keys secure. Tell us promptly of any unauthorised use.
4. Households, roles, and shared data
The Service is collaborative. When you create or join a household, its members can see and edit the household's shops, items, categories, and notes according to their role (Owner, Admin, or User). Catalogue data within a household belongs to the household and its Owner, not to any single contributor. See the Privacy Policy for how this affects data export and deletion.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Paid tiers (Pro, Business) and any lifetime purchase are billed via Stripe (web) or Apple In-App Purchase. Prices are shown before purchase. Web subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can manage or cancel via the in-app billing portal. Apple subscriptions are managed in your Apple account. Deleting your Shop Assistant account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Refunds follow the applicable platform's policy and your statutory rights.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service: no unlawful content, no attempts to breach security or access others' data, no automated use or abuse beyond the documented API, and no infringement of others' rights.
7. Third-party data and attribution
Shop discovery uses LocationIQ and OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the ODbL). Map tiles are rendered client-side. Brand logos, where shown, originate from Wikidata / Wikimedia Commons.
8. Service availability & changes
We aim to keep the Service available but provide it "as is" and may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We are not liable for losses arising from downtime except as required by law.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time (Account → Privacy and data). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for anything.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
